Since we've been kicked off FFA for the week, please feel free to continue the anon discussion here. Apologies if this is a big flop - I've never made a DW community before!

What is she even getting out of this, though? More people looking at her and thinking she's a moron? I don't understand her motivations at all.

I think she's just very, very emotionally dense.

Some people just enjoy playing devil's advocate. I used to do same both online and offline when I was thirteen and it was fun, until I realised that everyone just saw me as a jerk. I hope agent will come to the same conclusion, like the other anon, I'm not holding my breath.

The fact that she calls herself a muckracker and was into "getting interviews" suggests to me she really likes playing reporter.

She's also been following Andy for what, almost three years now? Andy was gradually leaking details about his tragic woobie past and recovery for quite a while before everything blew up. I suspect she liked and respected him, and was inclined to believe what he said before she ever started digging into the matter. Maybe she didn't want to believe she could be fooled or misjudge someone so badly, either.

She also has a terrible case of can't-shut-the-hell-up-itis.

She's redcoast on fandom_wank, so she's been following his shenanigans for over a decade.

Then I'm at a total loss to explain her behavior. I assume she gets kicks from taking the edgy position that Andy is a the victim of an unjust witch hunt. Charging at windmills, that whole deal.

Apparently she's done this exact thing before, when an SPN actor (Ty Olsen? something) was accused of sexually harassing congoers. It was all "this is terrible BUT WE HAVE NO PROOF...if you have proof please contact me! because I am a reporter! and I will be unbiased! (except he totally didn't do it and you're all liars)"

she's weirdly into rape apologism. I remember at one point she posted a link to a story about a man who had sex with his neighbour by pretending to be her husband - definitely rape - and she was all of the "this is a gray area" argument. she's awful.

I don't think you are far off with that assumption. She seems to exist purely to get into fights with people on the Internet. I think she's a curious person with TUmblr-level education where she believes researching something on Wikipedia for thirty minutes makes her an expert.

I think her sense of rectitude makes her double down when presented with differing information, as with the Vegascon thing, with Thanfiction, with FPB, etc. Right now she's in a seemingly endless battle with people in SPN about Misha's charity work.

Wait, is she criticizing Misha because of his charity work? Or what?

I mean, I'm sure he's not perfect, but Misha seems like a pretty good dude who understands how to make his fanbase work for the good of the world.

No, she's defending him against some SPN crazies. She's not always on the wrong "side" of an argument, but her persistence it's ever-present.
