This was ages ago and I was only around the periphery. But this is what I remember. They had just started dating, and everything seemed to be going well. They hadn't met in person, but were talking on the phone and he had Seamus get a tattoo of her name in DAYD, which was a big deal to everyone. She commissioned him to do a picture of her daughter because he needed money, and he used that picture to advertise for other commissions.

Then out of nowhere, he announced to the DAYDians that he was ending the relationship. This was the first she ever heard of it; he never actually broke up with her in person. When she left the DAYD group shortly after, he told everyone that he thought her love of kinky fanfiction was inappropriate and that she was a bad mother because of it.

It was really gross and judgey stuff.

I know luvscharlie. For Andy, this was just another lark - but for her it was deeply wounding. Fortunately she had good friends who stood by her through all of Andy's lies and slander. It's an area of her life that she doesn't want to revisit and will not talk about; it was THAT bad.

From what you say, it sounds like there's a lot more to the story than came out at the time. I mean, having someone lie about you online after dating over the phone for three weeks is definitely shitty, but you make it sound as if she was absolutely devastated by it. I know Abbey has shared that a lot of what Andy does is so dark that people don't want it out in public, and it sounds like that's the case here.

I'm sorry for what happened to your friend. She definitely did not deserve what Andy did to her. He's scum.

Are you the same friend-of-Luvscharlie who provided photos of Andy dressed as Bill Weasley for a photo comparison to prove Thanfiction was the same person as Victoria Bitter?

Every time I've re-read that Skype transcript where Andy blames LC for The Thanfiction Reveal I've often wondered how she's doing now because although I seem to remember her offering some interesting insights on the Fandom Wank threads after The Reveal, she's never talked publicly about Andy or what he did to her or how his manipulations affected her despite her being known by name in the Andy narrative. I don't doubt what he did to her was traumatic in exactly the way it was to every other poor sod this creep has victimised, but I'm very, very glad to hear she's had good friends and strong support since she was Andied. I hope she's healed well.

Oh gosh, and iirc didn't she make a call out post about Andy warning everyone he was full of shit because he spoke in a Southern accent one week and then went Full Oirish the next? This was sometime before the Thanfiction = Victoria Bitter reveal and I seem to remember she was attacked for pointing this out, while Andy's integrity was defended. Ugh, I just find the injustice of what he did to her -- what he does to people in general -- absolutely enraging.

I'm not the one who provided those photos. I'm just a friend and Andy-observer on the sidelines. Part of the reason it's so painful for her is that she *was* attacked on FW - Andy basically sent the troops after her. She doesn't want to talk about it, doesn't want to be contacted or have any part of the AA blogs.

That said, she's doing great, still writing HP fic and enjoying her life. She's moved on. But I don't think she'll ever forgive him for betraying her.

How many people has he hurt like this? More than we'll ever know.

Really? I don't remember Luvscharlie being attacked on Fandom Wank at all, did those posts happen live and have since been deleted because I only came across my first Andy warning post in 2011 so didn't see anything of the 2009 Thanfiction reveal on FW in real time. Then again as it's been a good few years since I last read the threads it could be I've forgotten that aspect of her involvement in it. I'm sorry that Andy was able to use the FW discussions as yet another way to try to hurt and discredit her.

I do understand why she'd want to keep her distance from the AA blogs and communities like this, even though I'm sure everyone would be genuinely supportive of what she went through, as well as being fascinated by what she could tell us about Andy from that time. I'm glad to hear she's moved on and although scarred, is now happy.

Everyone who rebuilds their lives w/o Andy in them and are doing better than when they met him, must just stick in his craw something hard.

THIS. Andy is not someone who lies because he's insecure and doesn't think people will like the real him. Andy lies because he loves being deceitful and destructive. His lies are amazingly revealing about who he really is.

You know, as I reread this, what jumps out to me is how much Andy changes to appeal to his latest pool of victims - he went from being a misogynistic, cocky, "charming rogue" wannabe on LJ (obviously modeled around DAYD Seamus) to a sensitive, thoughtful, social justice-oriented survivor on tumblr. These personas may not have had separate names like Jordan did, but they are still essentially new "alters" that Andy is playing to appeal to whatever demographic he's pursuing.

Andy never really latched onto a specific character to model himself after in Supernatural, but based on his past patterns, I wouldn't be surprised if Bucky Barnes turns out to be a model for his next persona. If that happens, expect to see him playing up his mental illness(es) more (check), changing his hair (oh wait, he said it conveniently changed on it's own!), and ramping up his interest in paramilitary shit again.

I took part in a couple of fests that she modded back when I was in the HP fandom. She always seemed like a great person and a lot of fun. I'm so sorry Andy did this to her and I'm glad her friends were there to support her.
