My observation is FAA is officially more open to discussion of contentious subjects than TFT. Notice no one is trying to shut down that conversation because it's "offensive" or "off topic", there's no hand-wringing about whether it should be discussed at all, nor is the subject being helicoptered by mods. Everyone manages to have a reasonable discussion without being an asshole.

lol. your perspective - and therefore your mileage - may vary on that last point.

the fact is, these convos have been incredibly ugly on FFA in the past, with plenty of people being assholes. and that's why this forum was set up with some standards in place from the outset.

but if it's so much better over there - why not just stick to it? I'm not sure what you think this comment is going to accomplish.

For what, freezing the internet badass post last week or the threads someone kept starting about Andy's bad aging?

You sound exhausting and also very new to this... This whole community exists because FFA mods banned Andy discussion on their community after high volume ongoing threads about Brittany's death for exhausting for them to moderate.

I've been around since Andy's LOTR days, and I was here when TF first popped up. I find it very ironic that FFA is now the more open forum, given what led to TF's creation.

This space isn’t as anon as FFA, nor should it be. I don’t want my location disclosed to any Andy Stan or Andy, it’s enough to keep it civil for most people. The topic is also hyper-focused and is probably the closest thing to a space for victims where people aren’t going to question the hobbits. They may be impacted directly by callous discussion.
