You can either choose never to dispute someone's life experiences, or you can openly discuss the possibility that they are parroting what their abuser wants them to out of a desire to protect him, but you can't do both at the same time and in the same place.

Yeah, exactly. What are we supposed to do, exactly, when Meg comes here and tells us that medical professionals were completely fine with Andy operating on her? Give support to a version of events which is fucking clearly bullshit to anyone with a passing knowledge of medical practice so as to not 'gaslight' her?

Absolutely this!

I truly believe Meg came in here to stall the discussion about Andy, and to deliver his spin on events, and make him out to be the hero. When we didn't agree with her, she stomped off in a huff. It seems to me she willingly walked into the lion's den, then was surprised when she got bit. I don't think we were at all out of line in our handling of her. Teablogger and the others have their own spaces to say what they like, and we don't always have to agree with them. However, they have no business asking for our IP addresses, and telling our mods what to do. I think our mods have done a great job so far. This forum is Gloves Off, a place where we can say the sometimes unpleasant things that need to be said. The truth often hurts, but it still needs to be told.
