Gloves Off

Please use this post for discussion of those contentious, murky, triggering issues too complex to discuss/moderate on the main post.

Note that this post is NOT a free-for-all and will still be modded for slurs, namecalling, doxxing and trolling. But fair warning that it will not be moderated for discussion of issues some find triggering (trans issues, mental illness, etc.) and that if you choose to participate here, you do so at your own risk.

First of all, I will say that given Andy's history of sudden emergency fundraising bullshit, this whole thing is extremely suspicious.

However, it is possible that March 8 was the only workable date for his surgery because it's during his spring break week. So this is (supposedly) the only time he can do it that's not during school or his internship.

You can confirm the spring break dates here: academiccalendars.vcu.edu

There are of course still many other details that don't quite add up, but the date is at least maybe sort of plausible.

I guess it's just strange to me that he went from happily crowdfunding to SUDDEN PANIC when he presumably knew his schedule *the entire time.* If he was going to need to have it over spring break, why not simply set a fundraising goal for before then?

This doesn't necessarily mean he was being malicious--but it's hard for me to imagine accepting thousands of dollars for a surgery that might not even be possible.
