continued Thatfucker discussion
Since we've been kicked off FFA for the week, please feel free to continue the anon discussion here. Apologies if this is a big flop - I've never made a DW community before!
The rules are vaguely the same as they are over on FFA. Please refrain from being too much of an asshole, making personal attacks, posting identifying information or engaging in transfail.
ETA: If there's information you'd like to see archived (journal/blog posts related to Andy, etc.), please dump it here and link to it from the main post for discussing.

Re: DIscussion of Facebook messages: Carlanime/Necromommycon and Andy
(Anonymous) 2016-11-07 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)I think that ascribing his lying to a "compulsion" absolves Andy of too much blame. Andy's lies are deliberate and often planned. He tells different lies to different people/groups of people; they are often intricate and build on each other over long periods of time. In spite of how complicated it can become, he is able to remember what he's told each person so that if information is "leaked", he can figure out who did it. If two people that have heard different lies talk to each other and discover contradictions in what they were told, he can explain it away and then attack them for not trusting and "betraying" him.
Andy knows perfectly well that people have suffered and continue to suffer because of this and his other abusive actions, but he chooses to keep doing it. In my opinion, it's more about controlling everyone in his circle than about torturing people, but I do think it's a deliberate choice rather than a compulsion that he can't help.

Yeah, I see your point. I think what I meant was more what the nonnie above said, that thanfiction lies for the sake of lying, and if the lies happen to manipulate, control, or cause pain, so much the better.
