continued Thatfucker discussion

Since we've been kicked off FFA for the week, please feel free to continue the anon discussion here. Apologies if this is a big flop - I've never made a DW community before!

The rules are vaguely the same as they are over on FFA. Please refrain from being too much of an asshole, making personal attacks, posting identifying information or engaging in transfail.

ETA: If there's information you'd like to see archived (journal/blog posts related to Andy, etc.), please dump it here and link to it from the main post for discussing.

I work in a student health facility. Our mental health services are upstairs and they actually have appointments blocked off during the day for 'urgent care'. Meaning students who walk in who are clearly in urgent need to see someone immediately and not wait for an appointment. This isn't unusual, either. Plus the health center itself has a nurse practitioner who deals solely in med checks for students who are taking medications that might have side effects. And since students pay a fee as part of their tuition, the appointments are either really cheap (like $15) or no charge.

Now I don't know what the health center at Andy's college is like, but I smell a whiff of bullshit. I royally doubt the mental health area would turn him away if he wasn't suicidal. IF he really reached out to them, I'm sure they have ways of helping him. Programs in the community that he'd benefit from. Thing is, it would require some effort on his part, and wouldn't shame Meg nearly enough for his liking.
