continued Thatfucker discussion
Since we've been kicked off FFA for the week, please feel free to continue the anon discussion here. Apologies if this is a big flop - I've never made a DW community before!
The rules are vaguely the same as they are over on FFA. Please refrain from being too much of an asshole, making personal attacks, posting identifying information or engaging in transfail.
ETA: If there's information you'd like to see archived (journal/blog posts related to Andy, etc.), please dump it here and link to it from the main post for discussing.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-09 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)Can we talk about how Andy's writing style hasn't changed since he was a young teenager? I want to know if anyone else is as creeped out by that as I am.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-10 12:02 am (UTC)(link)There's something cold and condescending about his writing, and it's as if the narrative itself is talking down to you.
Yes! I think this is what makes everything Andy writes so impossible for me to read. There's something calculated and disdainful about the style he uses, whether in fiction or otherwise.
Also, cold and condescending prose that's also incredibly purple... huh. Sounds like Winterfox.

(Anonymous) 2015-04-10 12:10 am (UTC)(link)Well they're both sociopaths/narcissists, so it makes sense. As much as they try to mimic real passion and emotion, it will always read as cold.
