Since we've been kicked off FFA for the week, please feel free to continue the anon discussion here. Apologies if this is a big flop - I've never made a DW community before!

The rules are vaguely the same as they are over on FFA. Please refrain from being too much of an asshole, making personal attacks, posting identifying information or engaging in transfail.

I am Watch, and I'd like to make a full post about that when I have the time. But basically I think that whole thread is Andy taking advantage of people giving him the benefit of the doubt--as a writer myself, I know all kinds of bizarre stuff that I picked up in research but I don't always recall when/where I read it.

But I think this is part of his "laying breadcrumbs," actually. He describes vivid sensations, but plays it off like he must have read it somewhere or there's another explanation--I think he is waiting for someone to say to him, "Okay, maybe you read about somewhere serving mac and cheese but if you REMEMBER it that vividly, you know the TEXTURE of the tomatoes, something is up, maybe you're experiencing Bucky's memories" so he can hook them.

I've also personally had a hard time writing first person in traumatized characters, so that's believable. But if he is truly trying to convince everyone that DAYD was mental illness, the point where it makes him feel sick is when he NEEDS TO STOP if that's true.

Also, does anyone know what his most recent post about his story is? I know the email he sent carlanime and others involved a long blank in his memory, but I thought he wasn't claiming to have lost his memory anymore? or he was? can anyone help?

Oh, man, I think you're right- I think he wants someone else to make the connection. (And then he has a handy scapegoat when it all inevitably goes wrong, too.) I hope no one falls for it. :/

It's a great strategy for an abuser - he's filtering out all the people who roll their eyes at this shit and keeping it deniable enough for him to later say "no no no, I *never* said I was channeling anyone!" It's the same thing I remember KQ writing about in her experiences with him.

The gofundme was public, but these are locked Facebook posts. This makes me really uncomfortable about crossing the line of invasion of privacy, and I think it may violate TOS both here and on Tumblr.

If you're actually concerned rather than concern trolling and trying to shut down conversation you're uncomfortable with (why?), ask a mod if it should be screened.

This is the only Dreamwidth I follow (I'm more a Tumblr and Facebook person) and I'm actually not sure how to do that. I assume the mods are following this?

It's weird to me what people get concerned about. No one minded when people were posting awhile back about TF's con attendance or work based on his Facebook posts. Suddenly he starts to try to get money out of people, and experiences a fictional character's memories, and people somehow mind that less than his employment information?

I'm sorry if this has been settled then. I only found this community recently when I was looking up Thanfiction's Harry Potter stories on Tumblr and learned what a creeper he was and that he went to my school. I can see that I have stepped on toes, is there a FAQ so I don't do it again and that will tell me who the posse are?

Do you honestly need a FAQ to tell you why shutting down discussion of a serial abuser repeating his grooming technique is a bad idea?

I wasn't trying to shut anything down, I just didn't feel right about posting private Facebook posts and thought it was against TOS. I didn't know it had already been talked about. There's no need to act like I'm the enemy. I already know to avoid him, so I'm just going to go. I'm sorry I upset you.

I'm not upset, anon, just bewildered that someone discussing Facebook posts strikes you as the most important aspect of this. (Well, bewildered but also half convinced you're just the person assigned to shut down the conversation. That's a thing Andy does, after all.)

Just got to give you a shout out, Watch. Thanks for keeping people forewarned so they can be forearmed. You're doing good work.
