continued Thatfucker discussion

Since we've been kicked off FFA for the week, please feel free to continue the anon discussion here. Apologies if this is a big flop - I've never made a DW community before!

The rules are vaguely the same as they are over on FFA. Please refrain from being too much of an asshole, making personal attacks, posting identifying information or engaging in transfail.

ETA: If there's information you'd like to see archived (journal/blog posts related to Andy, etc.), please dump it here and link to it from the main post for discussing.

Cfc always confused me in relation to all the channelling, which is to say I could never quite work out what her take on it all was despite her being around during the DAYD days. But seeing her comment on the thread really clarified it for me; her comment about remembering John F Kennedy as President but being born 3 years after he died, it's like holy shit! She *genuinely* believes this stuff. No wonder she's been his most stalwart defender from Day One.

I wonder if she felt a bit betrayed when he went back on it. She stood by him through all of it, including when he dragged her kids and real life location into it. She lost friends, changed religions (to the very religion that Andy was pressuring Abbey to change to - very unlikely coincidence) and who knows what else. And then he said it was all mental illness. She seems to be WAY on board with it going back to be reality.

She was on board for whatever he was initially cooking up in SPN fandom, too: http://theteablogger.tumblr.com/post/126518406377/im-sure-youre-getting-there-but-abbey-said-you

CFC is a staunch Andy follower and defender. He can depend on her to always buy into his bullshit. I don't think she'll ever be The One that he gets close to him and seriously abuses, but she's a voice of "reason" on his side whose posts and responses to him help him in his program of abuse. She's useful to him and so he'll always keep her on side, just enough, to help him when he needs it.

I suspect she'd love to be The One, but settles for believing she's his best friend. I'd feel sorry for her, except she was actively horrible in lying about Abbey and in trying to accuse her of shirking a responsibility that CFC herself shirks all the time (if you even accept monitoring Andy for mental health issues as a legitimate responsibility, which I don't).

No love for Cfc here, but to be fair, I read that comment as "Memories are unreliable in weird, provably wrong ways, huh?" I could easily see someone having false memories of something they'd heard a lot about at a young age.

You could be right, but I don't think it's a damning, clear-cut comment.

AYRT

You're right, this exact comment isn't damning. But given her history, I'm not inclined to be charitable. I'm thinking of the time she went to town insisting that Abbey was guilty of statutory rape. I have no time for her tbh. Her continued enabling of Andy is deeply problematic and she has a lot to answer for imo.

It's damning via a lack of clarity if nothing else. If she believes Andy's story about mental illness, then she should be a hell of a lot clearer in shutting this down considering how condemnatory she was of Abbey not spotting 'signs of mental illness' in Jordan. She has clear signs now, a pattern to recognize, she has made it clear that she believes it's on Andy's social group to watch for this and she's a fuckton older and better educated than Abbey was at the time. A vague 'yes, me too' is less than useless.

Sorry, not AYRT. got mixed up on threads.
