continued Thatfucker discussion

Since we've been kicked off FFA for the week, please feel free to continue the anon discussion here. Apologies if this is a big flop - I've never made a DW community before!

The rules are vaguely the same as they are over on FFA. Please refrain from being too much of an asshole, making personal attacks, posting identifying information or engaging in transfail.

ETA: If there's information you'd like to see archived (journal/blog posts related to Andy, etc.), please dump it here and link to it from the main post for discussing.

Fuck, that made me rage. His whole thing about how her work wasn't 'important' like his, but she's just underprivileged, a working class woman, so it's okay if she wants to write to COPE.

I think it drove him nuts that she was a BNF in her own right, without him.

AYRT

I think that's it, exactly. Her liveblog of DAYD was nothing but positive and kind, but he completely fucking trashed her fic. "It's not a REAL story; it's a Mary Sue wish fulfillment fantasy with Dean's name subbed in for hers! There's not even really a plot! But that's okay because she's a woman, and this is obviously the best that a woman can do, let alone an actual blue collar person*. Not everyone can be as great a writer as I am!" That's what it boils down to, when you strip away the bullshit SJ explanation for why women and other minorities supposedly don't write proper stories. "I'm not trying to mansplain! [mansplaining intensifies]"

* As opposed to someone who enjoys play-acting poor and using it to manipulate others, knowing full well that he can run back to his well-off parents if he gets tired of it.

Oops, sorry, I'm actually the thread starter. I was reading in flat view.
