continued Thatfucker discussion

Since we've been kicked off FFA for the week, please feel free to continue the anon discussion here. Apologies if this is a big flop - I've never made a DW community before!

The rules are vaguely the same as they are over on FFA. Please refrain from being too much of an asshole, making personal attacks, posting identifying information or engaging in transfail.

ETA: If there's information you'd like to see archived (journal/blog posts related to Andy, etc.), please dump it here and link to it from the main post for discussing.

On The History of Superhero Channeling

Hey all, it's KumquatWriter here. I wanted to ask if y'all think it's relevant that the "third act" of my life with him was all about superheros. They were pseudo X men with mutant powers, but he had a genetic explanation - one that conveniently also served to create a handy "sorting" system for pretty much everyone on earth. I don't know anything about the current superhero franchises - I've only seen the original X-men trilogy. So I don't know if it's something that would still be relevant to what he's doing. I may write a full post of it if it's something that could tie in to his current hunting grounds. I don't want to put myself back in his - or his followers' - cross hairs yet again (though I accept that it's pretty much inevitable even if I don't talk).

Is it worth going deeper into his original (as far as I know) dive into superheroes?

Thanks,
KQ

I think it could be relevant, if you're up to it KQ!

If you're up for discussing it, I think it could definitely be relevant. The current superheroes are all versions of old staples; there's lots of recycling involved.

Well then, it makes sense that Andy's exploiting it. Recycled characters and recurring plot elements? LOL

Definitely. I think you discussing your experience has helped people becoming aware of Andy more than anything else.

I'd be interested in hearing more about this part of your time with Andy.

If you feel up to it, I'd say it's worthwhile, but I also understand that you may not feel up to it!

Also, as someone who was into mainstream superheroes for a good while... yeeeeah. There's a lot of recycling of the same concepts and people over and over and over, and a TON of retconning events and such. (It's part of why I left.) It sounds right up Blake's alley.
