It's nasty and cruel, but I don't find it confusing in the Andy scheme of things. I don't know if he's still doing this, but distancing himself from other trans guys, and dropping hints or stating outright that he was AMAB, grew up steeped in male privilege, etc., was a big concern of Andy's for years and years. Being sympathetic to and not undermining other trans men would be a threat to that self-image.
Plus Andy just likes to undermine people to get that sweet emotional dependency, and probably thinks young trans guys are an easy target.
