Hello. I received both of your emails about this situation and elected not to respond because engaging with you seemed counterproductive. Now that you've posted here, I feel that I have no choice.
As someone else has already noted, this is "unusually ham-fisted" for Andy. He certainly has fished for people's personal information before, but never for SSNs. And while he's done a number of truly terrible things, I have never heard of Andy trying to coerce anyone into making him the beneficiary of their life insurance. So I was a little suspicious of your story.
When you first contacted me, in October, I ended up corresponding with some people in an effort to confirm your version of events. I learned that Andy really was involved in online coordination of rescue efforts during Irma because of his father's work. He arranged transportation, food, and board for all of your dogs, and clean-up assistance and support for you--and he gave you the information necessary to use it. He questioned you about things like how many dogs you had, their sexes, etc. in order to make these arrangements, but he did not try to extract the kind of personal information you claim. One of my contacts said that Andy "moved heaven and earth" to help you when you asked for assistance right before landfall, but they were unsure whether you'd used the resources he assembled or not.
I am not commenting on the validity of your stories of Andy's posting about being cis or the way he talks/writes about military service. From what I've heard from other former friends of his, your comments on both of those issues ring true.
Let me be perfectly clear: I do not believe that you are being truthful when you say that Andy tried to use your concern for your dogs to coerce personal information and life insurance money out of you during Hurricane Irma. This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to defend Andy at all, let alone in a public forum, but I am confident that he did not do this. I do not appreciate that you tried to use my blog, and are now using this community, to disseminate false information. That makes you look bad, not Andy.
yeah, tbh, as soon as I got to the bit about the SSN and life insurance, I really started doubting the story. a lot of the other stuff rings true, but not that. cassanon.
Also think this is sketchy. It isn't his MO at all, going after financial info and SSN. It's counter to everything I've seen him do or heard of, tbh. I'd believe the volunteering to help with the dogs - that sounds like him - and I'd possibly believe the weird background stalking, although that's more work than I've seen him do - generally he goes for the cold reading tactic and mines for information that way. But this SSN stuff? No.
Yeah, I suspect shenanigans too. It just seems very contrived that this person just happenes to fit so many of Andy's well-loved tropes; that they're a trans rape victim who's in the military. It all seems a bit too convenient.
I won't be too specific because I don't want to break their anonymity, but not everything OP said is a lie. Like Andy, they built just enough truth into their story for it to be plausible at a glance.
Hey KW. I too think the claims of Andy fishing for OP's SSN seems far-fetched and outside of his usual MO, but then I half-remembered him doing something shady with Turimel's SSN but can't recall the exact details. I want to say he either used it to secure a loan or to move into a new property but think I might be getting mixed up. Could you clarify if possible?
She voluntarily co-signed on an apartment for us in San Dimas.
Later, after we were evicted, Andy and Diamond and I (later just Andy and I) lived at the 7 Star Motel in Hollywood. At some point Turi claimed we had used her address and SSN to rent the room. I still don't know what happened there. The motel room was in my name and only used my driver's licence. There was no SSN or credit check used at that motel and we always paid cash because we didn't even have a bank account. We never used Turi's info without permission (and at that point why the hell would we? She was already out for our blood and desperate to make us look even worse). And there was no reason we would or even *could* have done that at the 7 Star.
I've always assumed it was some confusion of some kind, like to 7 star was a forwarded address for something? Maybe I'll ask her.
Without revealing your sources, can you explain a little more why you disbelieve this person? Can you even switch the recepient of a life insurance policy on a dime like that? I believe there are red flags and your opinion holds a lot of weight. However, Andy has made some expensive life choicesin the last year or so. It’s possible his grifting has evolved because adult life, especially the kind he seems to be pursuing is expensive.
Changing the beneficiary of a life insurance policy requires a lot of paperwork, and usually also a waiting period for it to be processed and whatnot. It would be highly unlikely for all that to happen in less than a week. And if he did want to get named beneficiary, HE'D have to give ANON his information, not the other way around.
But it'd be a hell of a gamble even if he did get magically it processed in time, since there's always the possibility of anon not dying and so not getting the policy paid out. (Also, even if it did pay out, life insurance policies tend to be taxable as gifts)
Is it possible that the story is true, and Andy just doesn't know how life insurance works? Sure.
Is it also possible that anon is making this up for lulz? Also yes.
This was another factor that made me skeptical of OP's story. I have recently filled out the paperwork to make someone the beneficiary of my own policy, and yeah, Andy would have had to give OP his own birthdate, SSN, and other info. Andy is many things, but stupid is not one of them.
I'm somewhat limited in what I can say without revealing OP's identity, but a major factor was that there are a large number of reports (both on the internet and with law enforcement) of acts of animal cruelty/abuse perpetrated by OP. I have also seen screenshots of OP telling someone to kill themselves, posting about a plan to get people's pet rabbits that are posted for free on Craigslist and then kill them to feed to their dogs, and other disturbing things.
Yech. Reading the rest of the context you've posted is grim reading, but thanks for adding it, TB. I admit, I was kinda suspicious when I read. I mean... Andy Blake is many things, but he's never seemed that kind of financial con artist. His goal is adoration, not money, it seems to me.
Sorry you got dragged into this, but appreciate your putting some sunlight on this.
I'm the love bomb anon from the prior page and also chiming in to say this feels sketchy. I had at one point in 2017 asked Andy if he would consider buying/mailing something very expensive for me if I sent him money, and despite all the other manipulative bullshit that went down, he did not take advantage of that when the time came.
