Thread OP here: I'd love to know this, too. I got the impression she was talking with Andy extensively in private, since she made such a big deal about trying to be "objective." I think she really was initially siding with Andy's victims, but got caught up in her own stupid thing about being fair, or open-minded, or whatever she wants to call it. I think Andy did his usual thing where he's humble and kind of funny and openly "confesses" that of course he's made mistakes. I think I recall her even saying something on Tumblr along the lines of him expressing regret privately for things he'd done, or that she'd "seen his remorse" up close, or something like that. I really do think she just got caught up because of her own arrogance, and he wormed right in. She was (I hope she still is at least this first thing) a mother of multiple small children, living in a remote part of Canada, and I don't know that her partner was available daily because of work. I think she was bored and lonely, and it became more interesting, and more suitable to her own image of herself, for her to be friends with the wild, mysterious genius guy who's persecuted by others just for existing.
