Since we've been kicked off FFA for the week, please feel free to continue the anon discussion here. Apologies if this is a big flop - I've never made a DW community before!

The rules are vaguely the same as they are over on FFA. Please refrain from being too much of an asshole, making personal attacks, posting identifying information or engaging in transfail.

With Andy starting to delete his LJs and MCU fandom shutting him the hell down in less than 12 hours, I'm starting to wonder how long before Andy decides to shed his "Thanfiction" identity and start over. He's done it before, and it's starting to seem pretty clear that his baggage/history is starting to outweigh the benefits he gains from being the author of DAYD & his other various fandom stuff under his AB identity.

I don't think so. He's done it before, but that time he had lost everyone under his influence. He still has his core group under his control, and that seems to be what he really cares about.

That won't last, I don't think it can. Meg's young and probably not very wise but I can't see her sticking around forever. If/when she wises up to him, the fallout is going to be very interesting indeed considering I believe she's Andy's primary victim. THAT is when he'll probably bail.

Makes sense. It's pretty much exactly what he did with Abbey.

I suspect Meg will break with him when and if he starts dating someone who isn't her. That or Andy will cut her off when the inevitable drama over him dating people starts.

Or when she starts dating someone else?

I think that's unlikely for a number of reasons that I don't want to get into, mainly for her privacy's sake.

I think it's pretty obvious that Meg is in love with Andy. The "he couldn't be a sexual harasser b/c I sexually harassed him and he turned me down!" post made that very clear.

BTW, does anyone know of a place that's still around? She deleted the post, and IIRC none of the AA bloggers reblogged it out of respect for her.

Even if I knew nothing at all about her end of it, I'd still think it was pretty unlikely just knowing what I do about how Andy operates. Where would she find the time or energy?

Does Andy ever really "date"? I get the impression he's not interested much in sex or relationships. Like it doesn't seem very high on his list of priorities.

If it's useful to him in terms of control and attention, I think he's more than happy to get into a relationship, provided there's a bare minimum of physical attraction present AND he can leech off them in some way.

Described like that he sounds like Light Yagami. You know, Light Yagami if he were significantly stupider and had less real power. But the same ego.

I always thought he was one to go for overly close, overly intense, overly intimate relationships with plenty of unresolved sexual tension rather than actually consummating anything because that way there's always that potential. Think Meg, Rhys, Dana, Laura. He's used the same kind of tactics on all of them.

It also enables him to use the same tactics on others without the betrayal that they'd feel if they were actually in a relationship.

I think we're still a while from that. That would be his nuclear option and he's still got a reasonable following of people under his sway. That would be a lot to abandon.

If we look at when he's switched identities, can we figure out a pattern? Does he wait until he's out of followers or in the middle of some kind of more serious blowup? I know he was still with Abby when he did some of the early identity switching (the Amy Player pseudocide/rise of Jordan Wood), but that wasn't a clean break/new identity swap, it was more a transfer.

I wonder if living with his parents isn't a block to identity changing too, since he can't move someplace new and start fresh. He loves having people attend to him in person and he couldn't have that if he dropped Andy but stayed in his parents' home. It wouldn't take long before people made the connection between Andy and his new persona and then his cover's blown.

I dunno.
If I were Andy I'd just introduce a new online identity AND keep the local posse going. I doubt they question him too much.
And its not like he hasn't kept multiple on line identities on the go before.

It's quite possible he's already done this. Andy's no stranger to sockpuppeting, and it's possible he has one or two personas at the ready should he ever feel the need to "kill" his Thanfiction handle.

With the deletion of the Daydcomm, it's actually looking more and more likely to me. He's proud of that comm and so deleting is not something I ever thought he'd do. But his bullshit is starting to get impossible to wave away and more and more people are seeing now that all he really is is a liar. He's getting desperate.

Calling now that his excuse for deleting his TF handle will be "so busy with real life, don't have time to engage in fandom anymore, it's just a distraction" then countdown to him reappearing somewhere under a new name. He's very distinctive when he writes, but it could be a very long time before he's discovered again, providing he stops posting selfies.

Yeah, to me his deleting the daydverse comm is a giant red flag there. I wouldn't be surprised if he sets up a new Tumblr and refers people to his old one if they call him on his past shit.

I don't think an identity switch is in the cards for him. His notoriety is, in some small ways, a feature and not a bug for him, in my opinion.

It means that his victims are self-selecting (the kind of person who reads about his history and gets involved with him anyway may be quite idealistic/trusting as well as vulnerable to his methods) and self-isolating (choosing to be involved with Andy in the face of warnings from friends.)

It's obvious that he can still reel people in, all he has to do is "get to them first," God help them.

I do notice that Andy's SPN con friend that he was all over SWFing has done a quiet but seemingly thorough fade-away, which fills me with relief for him.

It was interesting that Andy played the "I'm so attracted to you!" card with him, which I didn't expect.

That really sent a chill up my spine. It was so... NAKED. It went like:

1. Rhys mentions the "really hot" Kevin cosplayer
2. They become formally acquainted, then very friendly immediately after
3. Andy is so into his new friend that he's close to questioning his sexuality

It's also notable that Andy lied about his history to Rhys too, on a confession post that was supposed to be about him being honest about his past and who he was.

In no way, shape or form has Andy been "hetero-all-the-things" his whole life. He's previously identified as a straight woman, a bisexual woman (briefly) and a lesbian.

Now, even if you erase his former identification and just project a male identity back all those years, he would have been what? A gay man, a bisexual man, and THEN a straight man.

What Andy did to Rhys is love-bombing, and a manipulative effort to make him feel like he was the only person in Andy's life to make him reconsider his sexual orientation, which is so demonstrably false it's laughable.

The problem he'd have is that there are pictures of him all over the place. He'd have to jump somewhere that doesn't cross over with internet fandom, and internet fandom is where he gets everything.

He also still has his "posse", CFC, and Meghan. His parents are supporting him. Idk, I think he's probably still doing pretty well. To me, this "delete everything!" mode looks a lot like the kind of drama he used to put Abbey through.

He might, as a last resort, but I can see his ego getting him caught out again. It wouldn't be long before photos of him in his new identity would start showing up.

I missed MCU shutting him down. How did that happen? /thankful Stucky nonnie
